DISTRICT MEETING NOTES --
Meeting (11/09/2025) opened at 3:10 pm w/ Serenity Prayer:
Old Business --
-Katy read the notes from the last meeting -- motion to accept notes was passed.
-The Masonic Lodge for the District Chili Cook-off has been acquired. Katy has made the flyer and will email it out later.
-Bethany was nominated as the new District 15 Secretary & Mindy was nominated as the Alternate District 15 Secretary. -- motion to accept nominations was passed.
-Elections for service positions within the District will be held in November.-Paul read the Treasurer's Report -- motion to accept the Treasurer's report was passed.
-Jason reached out to the Area about officially listing The Shelby Group as a part of District 15.
New Business --
-The Winter Committee Meeting is on March 7th & 8th of 2026. We will discuss the agenda items for that Committee at the next District Meeting. Jason will be attending Saturday the 7th and Terri will be attending the 7th & 8th. -- motion to cover the expenses for Terri's hotel room was passed.
-More information about the upcoming assemblies & conference will be sent out.
-The venue for the District Chili Cook-off has been secured for March 15th, 2026. The 50/50 raffle wouldn't be considered respecting AA's traditions if non-AA people buy raffle tickets. -- motion to make the raffle a 100% raffle was passed. -- motion to give the Lodge $50.00 for the use of the venue was passed. -- motion to do a raffle for a copy of "Pass It On" was passed.
-Folks are encouraged to get the word out to their respective groups about the Western Pre-Conference (there is a flyer on the District Website - NCDistrict15.com)
-No other new business - motion to close meeting passed.
